Meatball Sliders

These little cuties are a huge hit with kids (and actually everyone else). You can substitute turkey meatballs if your conscience gets to you.


24 frozen meatballs, thawed

2 cups marinara sauce

8 ounces sliced provolone or mozzarella

2 T butter

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

24 Hawaiian rolls (or dinner rolls)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a 9×13 pan with foil and spray with cooking spray (this is an important step).

Warm the meatballs in the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Separate the rolls and place in the pan. Open the top of a roll and place one saucy meatball on the bottom. Top with pieces of provolone or mozzarella. Place the top roll on and push down slightly. Repeat until all sliders are assembled.

Microwave the butter in a bowl until melted. Add garlic powder and Italian seasoning and mix well. Brush tops of buns with melted butter mixture. Toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes. Watch that they don’t get too brown and crunchy on top – you might need to adjust your temperature, or put foil on top so the tops don’t get too brown. Just keep an eye on them.
