Beer Bread

IMG_2743I LOVE this simple bread recipe. I’m not a bread baker (I’m too intimidated by the notion), so I was excited to find this recipe. Per, it’s the #1 recipe for beer bread in the world. This recipe calls for sifted flour, so if you don’t have a sifter, just spoon out the flour into the measuring cup. You do not want to cram flour in a cup – your bread will come out too tough. I love aroma that wafts through my kitchen when this bread is in the oven.


3 cups sifted all-purpose flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 cup sugar

1 (12 ounce) can beer

1/4 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 375. Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake 50-60 minutes. Do not overbake. Remove from pan and cool for 15 minutes.
